Please make plans now to watch iN DEMAND Pay-Per-View on Tuesday, October 18th for my 90-minute debate with Andrew Butler of "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" (PETA). And after the debate, please be sure to Vote and tell America who you think won the debate!

I guarantee that after this debate you'll never look at PETA or the anti-hunting movement in the same way again.

PETA claims that it "fights" for helpless animals. And right now, some of your own neighbors may be among those who are sending nearly $30 million a year in tax-deductible contributions to PETA -- spurred by slick ads claiming that their money will help find homes for stray dogs and cats.

</TD><TD style="FONT-WEIGHT: normal; FONT-SIZE: 8pt; FONT-STYLE: normal; FONT-FAMILY: verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif; FONT-VARIANT: normal" vAlign=top></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>Yet, PETA employees killed over 10,000 dogs and cats at one PETA "animal shelter" alone. Even more shocking, they've provided legal defense funds for extremists who use harassment, intimidation, and even terrorist tactics to achieve their aims.

And they're packing their "animal rights" madness and pitching it to our kids, too. According to PETA's most recent annual report, 11 million schoolchildren have already been subject to PETA's propaganda. 235,000 teachers have been co-opted into PETA's misinformation campaign. Thirty million Americans have visited their website. And PETA has made it crystal clear where they stand when it comes to hunters.

PETA compares hunters with the KKK and Jeffrey Dahmer, the notorious serial killer who ate his victims -- and claim that hunters are no different than "Nazi doctors and slave traders." And there is no doubt in my mind that it's only a matter of time before they start escalating their tactics against hunters in the field.

That's why you and every American hunter and gun owner needs to know the facts about PETA and the growing "animal rights" movement NOW.

Please plan now to watch this important debate. Tell your friends, invite them over to watch, and forward this e-mail to as many concerned gun owners as you can. If you can't watch the premier on Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, tune in to any of the three rebroadcasts listed below.

Remember, you can't fight back against anti-hunting zealots unless you're armed with the facts. And the very best way for you see and hear the facts about the "animal rights" movement's global anti-hunting agenda is to watch this debate. Our greatest American traditions of hunting and shooting are at stake. Thanks in advance for watching this crucial debate and don't forget to VOTE at the end of the show!

Hello,
I ordered this, its live tonight at 7pm in Colorado and was $9.99. It looks like air times and pricing vary from city to city but I wouldn't miss this!!!

I hope Mr. Lapierre from the NRA is much more articulate then Mr. Heston was for the NRA. I think Mr. Heston was passionate about his position at the NRA and meant well but resorted to "hunting rhetoric" that opposers could too easily rehearse their replies to. I saw Mr. Heston speaking on behalf of the NRA on that worthless piece of crap Michael Moorer's poor excuse for a documenrtary "Fahrenheit 911" and frankly wasn't impressed how he represented our right to bear arms. I again saw him on the HBO on the Dennis Miller show and again was unimpressed. Although I respect anyone's efforts to defend my rights to bear arms and hunt, I just don't think he pleaded a strong case.

It is my hope that Mr. Lapierre can creatively and uniquely defend our rights to the point he not only appeals to those of us that cherish our right to hunt, fish (PETA has a site for anti-fishing also) and bear arms but also maybe sway some of the many millions of citizens that are on the fence about this important issue.

If anyone ever had any doubts as to what kind of people these are then this article should lay it to rest. These people are the scum of the earth. Cant wait to see the debate tonight.

PETA Employees Face 25 Felony Counts
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Felony “Obtaining Property By False Pretenses” Added To Animal Cruelty Charges

Winton, NC -- Prosecutors in Hertford County, North Carolina filed additional charges today in the case of two People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) employees accused of killing adoptable puppies and kittens with the controlled substance pentobarbital, and tossing their bodies into a grocery-store dumpster. Felony animal-cruelty charges were re-filed this morning against defendants Adria Hinkle and Andrew Cook in Superior Court. In addition, they were each charged with three felony counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. The pair is expected to be formally indicted in Superior Court on October 31.

According to the new felony warrants, the charges of Obtaining Property by False Pretenses allege that Hinkle and Cook removed healthy animals from shelters and veterinary offices under the false promise that adoptive homes would be found for them. When the two were arrested in June, police found 31 dead animals which had been obtained only hours earlier. They also found several vials of the narcotics pentobarbital and ketamine.

The nonprofit watchdog Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) alerts the public to the misdeeds and radical agendas of animal “rights” groups like PETA. At www.PETAKillsAnimals.com, CCF exposes the hypocrisy of PETA’s massive euthanasia program which has resulted in the deaths of over 12,400 “companion animals” since 1998. Last year, PETA’s income exceeded $29 million—a tiny amount of which is devoted to actually caring for animals.

Center for Consumer Freedom Director of Research David Martosko is available for interviews with reporters who plan to cover the PETA employees’ upcoming trial. Members of the media can speak with Mr. Martosko by calling 202-463-7112 or 202-494-6220.

I would have to agree. These people have been hiding behind their claims for years and are actually the ones that are cruel to animals. Hunting is a longtime tradition, a father and son bonding and should continue to be near and dear to our hearts. PETA needs to be disbanded.

Basic rules of debate are each speaker will have 8 minutes to reply to all questions and to provide an opening statement.

Opening statement:
1) Andrew Butler- Compares hunting to murdering. Says hunters are equivalent to Jeffrey Dommer. Says animals do not need any regulations by humans (Fish and Game Departments). Says hunters hunt for no reason but to kill.

2) Wayne Lapierre- Spends much of his 8 minutes not defending hunting but exposing PETA for its own self righteous terrorism. The fact that PETA kills over half the animals they supposedly rescue. (more to come)

Question for Andrew: If you had your way you would eliminate 90% of medical testing. Do you think animals should live at the expense of human deaths.

Question for Wayne: 40% of hunters kill animals on public land. How can you say hunting is not a huge abuse of public lands.

Question for Andrew:

Question for Wayne: To boost the number of animals to kill, federal departments increase funding for hunting. How can say hunting is needed to control game.

Question for Andrew: How do you explain your theory that NO meat should be eaten.

Question for Wayne: Do you think Jesus would wear camo and hunt.

Audience Questions:

Question for Wayne: Why does the NRA deny linking gun ownership and violence.

Question for Andrew: Does PETA kill any animals (dogs and cats).

Question for Wayne: What other cruel behavior can be compared to hunting.

Question for Andrew: How far do we really need to take animal rights.

Question for Wayne: Is hunting really just an excuse for "small penis" syndrome.

Question for Wayne: Does NRA condone canned hunting (hunting encaged animals).

Question for Andrew: Would you shoot a hunter to save an animal.

Question for Wayne: How do you condone varmint hunting like prairie dogs with high power rifles.

Final Summation:

After watching the debate, I can clearly see that the people at PETA have completely lost their mind. I cant believe that they selected such a nieve, ignorant person to send to the debate podium. Mr.Butler actually thinks we are setting a bad example to our alien friends that are watching us, by killing animals. He also stated that we use hollow point bullets so we can watch our game explode. I laughed through much of the program.
Mr. Lapierre had loads of factual information with documentation waving in hand to prove it. One thing we can count on my animal hunting friend is this, any time Mr. Lapierre debates Mr. Butler he willl surely win. One should never come to a battle of wits UNARMED. Thank you Mr. Butler for helping our cause. :)

I get an e-mail telling me to give some company $10 to see a debate to help support hunting. Who gets this money? Why should I give it to them? How does this support the hunting community?

This was a pay per view event. I guess the people at pay per view got the money. It supports the hunting agenda by making us more aware of the angles the PETA is using to attack our rights. I think we all need to know the facts in order to speak wisely about the subject when we are presented with the opportunity. Just my thoughts.

I didn't see it yet but I have ordered the DVD. I hope Wayne Lapierre really shredded the PETA guy like most here seem to think he did.

Do you all ever get animal activists posting on this board? I would be interested in hearing what any of them thought of the debate. The tendacy here would be in favor of Wayne Lapierre simply because we share his views. I would be interested in hearing what the other side thought of the debate and who made the best case; Wayne Lapierre or PETA.

I have yet to see a substantiative analysis of this debate anywhere - which I find somewhat suprising. I will be getting my taped copy within a few days (I don't have Cable) and will do an "impartial" review based on standard debate stylistic/points ratings.

But to not see one already on a Blog or Gun site is annoying.

I made myself take an impartial view from the outset of the debate. The PETA guy had no facts. All his information was based on his own feelings. On the other hand La Pierre had all the facts and figures to back all that he said. Impressive.

Thanks!

Gingercookiemorris,
It looks like Oldironsights has ordered a taped copy of the debate. Maybe send him an e-mail and find out where he found it. I'll keep looking as well.

I called the NRA this morning and ordered the DVD. They were very helpful, but they did request a $20.00 donation. I did not ask if they would take less, as it is going to a good cause. I was told it may take up to 4 weeks to get it to me.

Thanks to all of you for your assistance.

Hmm. The guy asked me for $5. I also ordered the INHSA debate for $5. But then, I'm a Lifer...

I think the lag in the delivery is largely because it's still running on PPV another couple of times and they are not allowed to deliver it yet.

Scott But dissapointing too (from a "Debate" standpoint)

Andrew Butler of PETA spent his time in Attacking the Person (http://datanation.com/fallacies/attack.htm) of hunters, Prejudicial Language (http://datanation.com/fallacies/pl.htm), False Analogy (http://datanation.com/fallacies/falsean.htm) and Appeals to Pity (http://datanation.com/fallacies/ap.htm). Had Mr. Butler been denied the ability to use the words “barbaric”, “blasting” (and their synonyms) his part of the debate would have been much shorter. Unfortunately, Wayne LaPierre, while better prepared with facts and supporting quotes, almost entirely failed to argue the Question (of whether or not Hunting should be Globally banned) choosing instead to rehash Pen & Teller (their excellent debunking of PETA on Showtime's "Bull****") and also use highly Prejudicial Language (http://datanation.com/fallacies/pl.htm) to Attack the Person (http://datanation.com/fallacies/attack.htm) (ad hominem (tu quoque) of PETA and its larger corporate agenda.

There were many instances where Mr. LaPierre could have specifically addressed Mr. Butler’s prejudicial language and shocking lack of education in (or willful misrepresentation of) US Game Law, Wildlife Biology, Firearms/Terminal Ballistics, etc. – but he did so only once. (When Mr. Butler asserted that hunters did not kill the old & sick, but were interested in killing only the Young and Healthy animals to display large antlers. Mr. LaPierre was forced to explain that Large Antlers = Old Animal. Unfortunately he did not have or take the time to explain that the “quest for big racks” also leads to a large number of tags going unfilled each year.) Nor did he address how a worldwide ban on hunting would impact aboriginal peoples – who Mr. Butler (and the whole “Animal Rights” faction) conveniently ignores.<O:p</O:p

Anyway – that’s my first impression. When I get a full transcript done, I look forward to people discussing the point-by-points.<O:p</O:p

Thank you old iron sights. It was all I could do to keep up with typing the questions here during the debate but I couldn't agree more with your great briefing of how the event went!

I would even imagine the disillusioned folks at PETA would concede they lost that debate!
