Arkansans dominate duck-calling contest

STUTTGART, Ark. — Arkansans dominated the 70th annual World's Championship Duck Calling Contest on Saturday, held as part of the Wings Over the Prairie Festival.



The overall winner was John Stephens of Stuttgart, who had his third title. First runner-up was Mike Smith of Madison, Ala.; second runner-up was Robert Strong of Sumner, Wash.; and third runner-up: David St. John of Conway. Stephens won $8,000, a boat and other duck-hunting themed prizes.



The women's title went to Angela Garner of Weiner. Heather Horton of DeWitt was the first runner-up; Hallie Horton of DeWitt was the second runner-up and the third runner-up was Priscilla Rickman of Dyersburg, Tenn.
