NSSF is assisting the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in relaying this message to Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) in the path of Hurricane Rita.
ATF will provide FFLs in the areas affected by Hurricane Rita with the necessary flexibility to ensure the safety and security of their business inventory and firearms records. FFLs do not need to contact ATF to move their business records and inventory to a more secure location. ATF will provide future guidance about necessary procedures for restoring business operations and informing the bureau of loss, damage or relocation.
ATF’s desire is to assist those FFLs in the region while protecting the public. The bureau sincerely hopes for the safety of all residents in the affected areas.
